Vadodara: Makarpura police have registered a case against a consultancy owner for allegedly cheating a 58-year-old man of Rs 1 lakh on the promise of arranging a work visa for Malaysia.According to a complaint filed by Karansingh Narvatsinh Jadav, a resident of Halol in Panchmahal district, the accused, Gaurav Shukla, runs Narayani Consultancy at Darshanam Plaza in Danteshwar.Jadav alleged that Shukla promised to arrange a Malaysian work visa and employment with a monthly salary of Rs 40,000 to Rs 45,000. The accused also allegedly assured him that accommodation, food and medical expenses would be covered by the employer.Trusting the assurances, Jadav paid Shukla Rs 1 lakh in instalments towards the visa and other arrangements. However, instead of sending him to Malaysia on a work visa, Shukla allegedly arranged a visitor visa for him. The complainant further said that the promised work visa was never provided.Based on the complaint, Makarpura police registered a case against Shukla under Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and initiated an investigation.
