Patna: Three people, including a Bihar Police constable and a railway workshop employee, died of electrocution in separate incidents in Munger district on Sunday. While the constable and the railway worker were electrocuted while attempting to repair a power line in Bariyarpur, an elderly farmer died after coming in contact with a live wire while operating a submersible pump in Tetia Bambar.In the first incident, uncle-nephew duo Pankaj Kumar (39) and Aman Kumar (28) were electrocuted at Ratnapur village under Bariyarpur police station area. Pankaj worked at the Jamalpur Railway Workshop, while Aman was a Bihar Police constable posted as a DSP’s bodyguard in Samastipur.According to police, a power outage in the village on Saturday night prompted the two to climb an electric pole near Bajrangbali Sthan on Sunday morning to repair the line. They came in contact with a live wire and fell from the pole. Villagers rushed them to a local doctor before they were referred to a private hospital and later to Munger sadar hospital, where doctors declared both dead.Bariyarpur police ASI Ajay Kumar said Aman had arrived in the village on leave a day earlier and was scheduled to leave for the Baba Baidyanath Dham Kanwar Yatra on Sunday.In a separate incident at Champachak village under Tetia Bambar police station, 61-year-old farmer Jehal Singh died of electrocution while irrigating his paddy field. Police said he came in contact with current while switching off a submersible pump after completing irrigation work. He was taken to a local hospital, where doctors declared him dead.Police have sent all three bodies for post-mortem and initiated further proceedings.
