Patna: State Congress president Rajesh Ram on Tuesday led the party’s dharna in front of Lok Bhavan here and demanded the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan and the withdrawal of FIRs lodged against students in connection with the Jantar Mantar protests in Delhi.“The central govt has resorted to repressive measures to suppress the voice of students and is avoiding answers to serious questions about the education system,” Rajesh said. He also said the Congress would continue to fight for the rights of students.“The FIRs lodged against innocent students should be immediately withdrawn and Dharmendra Pradhan should resign taking the moral responsibility,” Rajesh added.The dharna near Lok Bhavan began at around 7.45pm on Tuesday. Among those who took part were AICC co-incharge for Bihar affairs Sushil Pasi, MLAs Manoj Kumar Biswas, Abhishek Ranjan and Qamrul Hoda, besides Anil Kumar Tinna, Minnat Rahmani, Asit Nath Tiwari and Pankaj Yadav, along with several other party functionaries.
