Ranchi: State Congress president Keshav Mahto Kamlesh on Monday expressed concern over a large number of unmapped votersin urban areas across the state and urged immediate corrective action.Talking to media at the party office, Kamlesh said that a Congress delegation met chief electoral officer (CEO) K Ravi Kumar and submitted a memorandum on the issue. According to the party, as many as 2,10,006 voters in Ranchi, 2,80,415 in Bokaro, 2,33,326 in Dhanbad, 1,50,082 in Jharia and 1,85,796 in East Singhbhum (Jamshedpur) remain unmapped. “These voters must be mapped without delay to ensure their electoral rights are protected,” he said.As part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), the Election Commission is currently mapping all unmapped voters after publishing a list on May 23. From June 30 onwards, booth level officers will visit door to door for physical verification process.
