Chandigarh: Haryana Congress president Rao Narendra Singh on Tuesday launched the party’s ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ campaign in Narnaul, targeting the BJP governments at the Centre and in the state over unemployment, recurring paper leaks and the rising cost of education.Addressing a gathering, Rao alleged that students spend years preparing for competitive examinations only to face disappointment because of recruitment irregularities and repeated paper leak incidents. Referring to controversies surrounding national-level examinations, including NEET, he claimed such incidents had shaken the confidence of lakhs of aspirants. He also accused the government of weakening public education while allowing private institutions to flourish, making quality education increasingly unaffordable for middle-class and poor families. The Congress leader alleged that government schools in Haryana were grappling with shortages of teachers and basic infrastructure, forcing many parents towards costly private education. On employment, he said the growing number of highly qualified youth applying for low-paying jobs reflected the worsening job situation in the state.District Congress president Satbir Jhukiya also criticised the functioning of recruitment agencies, alleging a lack of transparency and fairness.Calling the campaign a movement to safeguard the future of Haryana’s youth, Rao said the Congress would continue raising issues related to education and employment across the state.
