Hyderabad: BJP Telangana chief N Ramchander Rao on Monday alleged that chief minister A Revanth Reddy and Congress have made it a habit to level baseless accusations and spread falsehoods against the central govt and BJP leaders.Addressing a press conference in Nizamabad, Rao said Congress was accusing the Centre of discriminating against the southern states and was attempting to incite people through divisive politics, particularly by creating misconceptions among people in the south. He also alleged that parties in the INDIA bloc, along with Congress, were engaging in divisive politics across the country. Rao also said that from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Assam to Ahmedabad there was a sense of unity among the people of India and that they wished to move forward with this unity. Referring to Revanth Reddy’s repeated questions on what the central govt had given to Telangana, he said Congress should first clearly state what it had provided to the people of Telangana before making what he described as false accusations. He claimed that in the past 11 years the central govt had allocated over 12 lakh crore to Telangana and asked whether Revanth Reddy could not see this. He said the development of municipalities and municipal corporations in Telangana was entirely taking place with funds provided by the central govt. He alleged that instead of diverting central projects and funds to the Kodangal constituency, the Congress govt should answer what it had actually done for the state. He asked whether any of the six guarantees announced by Congress had been implemented and said the party should answer what it had done for farmers, students, women and all sections of society.Rao claimed that during Congress rule around 40 retired employees had committed suicide due to harassment without receiving retirement benefits.
