Ranchi, March 10 (IANS) The Jharkhand Assembly on Tuesday witnessed uproar as opposition members created a ruckus over the state’s law and order situation and alleged corruption.

Ranchi: The assembly on Tuesday approved a budget of Rs 1,168.73 crore for the labour, employment, training and skill development department after a discussion.Moving the cut motion, Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha MLA Jairam Mahto raised the issue of a lack of an employment policy in the state, claiming locals were not getting jobs and were forced to migrate to other states in search of employment. He demanded that the maximum number of competitive examinations should be held in local languages.MLA Alok Kumar Chaurasia said that better operation of the skill development programme would help people of the state. He said that allocation for the industries department was Rs 541.30 crore, which should be increased.MLA Jagat Majhi demanded that the govt should ensure that bodies of workers who die in other states are brought back.In his reply, labour minister Sanjay Prasad Yadav highlighted the achievements of his department, and said that through the Shramdaan portal, 83,919 workers in unorganised sectors benefited from various schemes of state govt. He said that 80 children were freed from child labour, out of whom 22 were enrolled in schools, while the process is on for the remaining kids.The minister stated that a sum of Rs 225.5 lakh was distributed among the families of 273 migrant workers who died in this financial year.
