Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Friday asked road construction department officials to complete the remaining work under the second phase of the Mithapur-Mahuli elevated road project within the stipulated deadline while maintaining high construction standards.Samrat issued the directive while inspecting the ongoing work on the corridor, which is expected to improve connectivity across south Patna. He said the project would provide major relief to commuters by easing traffic congestion and reducing travel time.Road construction department officials briefed the CM on the progress of the project. They said construction from Mithapur to Sipara under the second phase had reached the final stage. Once completed, the elevated road will connect directly to the existing flyover at Patna Junction (Karbigahiya) and the Mithapur R.O.B. Golambar.Officials said the link would improve connectivity for residents of Mithapur, Sipara, Etwarpur, Parsa and Kurthaul and help reduce traffic congestion in these areas. It will also strengthen Patna’s road connectivity with Gaya, Jehanabad and the Gaya-Dobhi four-lane stretch of NH-83.Principal secretary to the chief minister Deepak Kumar, road construction department secretary Pankaj Kumar Pal, secretary to the chief minister Sanjay Kumar Singh, Patna district magistrate Kundan Kumar and senior superintendent of police Kartikeya K Sharma, along with other senior officials, accompanied Samrat during the inspection.The review focused on timely completion of the project, quality monitoring and coordination among the agencies involved so that the elevated road could be integrated smoothly with the city’s existing transport network.
