Prayagraj: A criminal complaint has been filed in Prayagraj district court against Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, alleging that he made derogatory remarks against Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, SP founder and former defence minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, and MP Dimple Yadav.The complaint was filed by Samajwadi Party leader Sandeep Yadav, who has sought directions from the court for registration of a criminal case against the minister.Taking cognisance of the complaint, the additional chief judicial magistrate (MP-MLA Court) fixed Aug 20 for recording the complainant’s statement.According to the complaint, Nandi allegedly posted derogatory and baseless remarks on social media on June 18, 2026, targeting Akhilesh, Mulayam and Dimple.Sandeep, who had contested the assembly election from Prayagraj’s City North constituency on an SP ticket, further alleged that the post was repeatedly shared by Nandi and his supporters, spreading misinformation and potentially disturbing public peace.
