“Himanta Biswa Sarma is scared as we wanted to highlight Assam’s condition. We wanted to expose the deplorable condition of Assam’s schools, the reality of Kaziranga where land is being sold and the man-made floods in the state. Our members were detained. Several volunteers were not allowed to reach the venue. But he has forgotten that it is not easy to scare the people of this soil.”
Ranka arrived in Assam on Saturday and the meeting was scheduled to take place on Sunday. Hours before the meeting, Ranka alleged that the administration obstructed people from reaching the venue. He accused the government of threatening the members of the organisation. Roads leading to the venue were barricaded.

“We know that he won the assembly election by redrawing the boundaries of constituencies where voters of a village were made to vote in three different constituencies,” Ranka alleged.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, who accused the Assam Police of taking Ranka and the team to an unknown location, said that if Ranka and the others were not released, he would come to Assam with more party members and dared the chief minister to arrest them all.
“Assam Police has detained Ashutosh Ranka and a CJP team and is taking them to an unknown location. Ashu and co were going to have a small volunteer meet up in Assam,” he said in a social media post.
