Kanpur: Police registered an FIR against four persons, including a coaching centre operator, after a woman lodged a complaint alleging assault and harassment of her son, a Class IX student, at the coaching centre in Orai. The woman, a resident of Rameshwar Nagar under Orai Kotwali police station, alleged that her 15-year-old son was detained and beaten by teachers on March 10.According to the complaint, four teachers allegedly kept the boy at the coaching centre from around 3.30pm to 5.20pm. The family alleged that the student was first taken to a bathroom where he was stripped and beaten, and later locked in an office room, tied with a rope and assaulted again, leaving him injured and mentally traumatised.The woman alleged that a day earlier another student had posted objectionable messages about the teachers in the coaching centre’s WhatsApp group. She said the teachers suspected her son of posting the messages without verification and punished him without informing his parents. They added that the family was called later but was not given accurate details about the incident.
