Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the Rs 28.92 crore Urban Flood Early Warning System, enabling automated alerts for rising water levels in city drains and full automation of pumping stations and will dedicate and lay the foundation stones of 177 development projects worth Rs 252.50 crore on Wednesday.Key projects to be inaugurated by the CM include Animal Birth Control Centre worth Rs 2.55 crore, digital library worth Rs 2.05 crore under the Smart City Mission and Rs 35.42 crore Ramgarh Lake beautification (Phase 2). Projects for which CM Yogi would lay the foundation are two parks under Upvan Yojana (Rs 4.95 crore), road and drainage works in new wards (Rs15.74 crore) Rs 26.80 crore Nehru Park beautification project, Working Women Hostel and Coworking Complex worth Rs 24.40 crore and work for infrastructure in slum areas under the state schemes at a cost of Rs 60.52 crore. He would also felicitate sanitation workers and municipal councilors of Gorakhpur Nagar Nigam to celebrate Gorakhpur’s achievement in Swachh Survekshan 2024-25. The city secured 3rd rank in the nation in the Safai Mitra Surakshit Sheher category and 4th rank among cities with a 3-10 lakh population. Gorakhpur also topped UP rankings and upgraded from a 3-star to a 5-star Garbage Free City certification this year.
