Kerala chief minister V D Satheesan

Thiruvananthapuram: With heavy rain continuing to batter Kerala and flood damage mounting in several districts, Chief minister V D Satheesan will visit the worst-affected areas on Tuesday to assess the situation firsthand.Satheesan’s visit will primarily focus on flood-ravaged regions in Pathanamthitta. He is scheduled to arrive at Aranmula around noon before touring Ranni and other affected areas, where he will interact directly with residents and assess the extent of the damage. The state govt is expected to announce emergency relief measures for those affected by the floods at the cabinet meeting scheduled for Wednesday.Home minister Ramesh Chennithala had earlier indicated that govt was considering immediate assistance for flood victims. Speaking during a visit to a relief camp in Thiruvalla, Chennithala assured that govt would stand firmly with those affected.
