Mangaluru: Chief minister DK Shivakumar will inaugurate the Jayashreekrishna Parisara Premi Samiti’s silver jubilee celebrations, to be held at the Kudmul Ranga Rao Town Hall on Sunday. Samiti president Nityananda D Kotian will preside over the programme.The organisation’s development roadmap and vision for the future will be outlined by its founder, Jayakrishna A Shetty, along with honorary president Dr BM Hegde. Dr Ronald Colaco, NRI, and distinguished fellow of the Institute of Directors, will speak on the economic and infrastructure roadmap for the region.Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, state coordinator KP Jagadish Adhikari said the organisation’s work over the past 25 years had been guided by the belief that environmental protection and economic development must go hand in hand. “Our mission for the past 25 years has been guided by the conviction that protecting our land, air and water must go hand in hand with promoting industries, generating employment and eliminating poverty for the overall prosperity of the region,” he said.Health minister UT Khader, tourism minister KJ George, Udupi-Chikmagalur MP Kota Shrinivas Poojary, Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta and MLCs Manjunath Bhandary and Ivan D’Souza as well as MLAs D Vedavyas Kamath, Ashok Rai and Rajesh Naik will participate.
