Chennai: TVK chief Vijay hit out at Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin on Monday, accusing him of reducing a “superstar state” to one that is being run by a stand-up comedian. He also accused the chief minister of making false promises to the people and claimed that Stalin’s real friends were bribe, corruption and eyeing political gains.

“Stalin says Tamil Nadu is a superstar state under his rule. Tamil Nadu was a superstar state under (former chief ministers) Kamaraj, Annadurai and MGR, but not under Stalin. Now it has become a state run by a super stand-up comic,” he said, addressing a rally in Vellore.

He reiterated that he believed the competition in the upcoming assembly election in Tamil Nadu would be squarely between the TVK and the DMK. “Tamil Nadu is Vijay, Vijay is Tamil Nadu,” Vijay said.
He also said that the fight would be between “pure force TVK and evil force DMK”. “MK Stalin has given fake promises and is cheating people,” Vijay said.
