Chennai: The Manithaneya Makkal Katchi (MMK), an ally of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, on Monday said it had held talks with the ruling party’s seat-sharing committee for the upcoming Tamil Nadu elections.
MMK president MH Jawahirullah said his party had won both the seats it contested in 2021-Papanasam and Manapparai. It has demanded to contest five assembly seats this time, he added.
Jawahirullah said the party would contest on the ‘Rising Sun’ symbol of the DMK this time as well. The talks were held with DMK treasurer and Lok Sabha MP TR Baalu at DMK headquarters Anna Arivalayam in Chennai.
Leaders of Vaiko’s Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) also held talks with the DMK seat-sharing committee.
