Patna: CM Samrat Choudhary on Tuesday directed officials to accelerate the implementation of major development projects under ‘Bihar Gati’ and other centrally sponsored and state schemes, with emphasis on timely completion, quality control and inter-departmental coordination.Reviewing projects worth more than Rs100 crore at a meeting here, CM examined key schemes of road construction, water resources, industries and social welfare departments. Officials briefed him on the progress of projects being implemented under their respective departments.A major focus of the meeting was Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) at Gaya under Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC). CM directed officials to launch the IMC in the second week of Oct and ensure that the required infrastructure and facilities are developed within the stipulated timeframe. The cluster, spread over about 1,670 acres near Dobhi, has been projected to have investment potential of Rs20,000 crore and potential to generate more than 1.09 lakh jobs.CM also reviewed Sultanganj-Tarapur-Sangrampur-Belhar-Katoria-Chandan-Dardmara road project and directed officials to prepare a detailed proposal for converting the 40-km stretch into a four-lane road. He also called for expediting the proposed four-lane road between Belhar and Dardmara, keeping future traffic requirements in mind.The drinking water supply scheme for Aurangabad, Sasaram and Dehri was another key issue discussed. Under the project, surface water from Sone river will be used to meet drinking water requirements. Choudhary directed officials to closely monitor the scheme and ensure its completion within the prescribed timeframe, stressing that there should be no compromise on quality.Reviewing the proposed barrage on Kamala river at Jaynagar in Madhubani, he directed officials to expedite construction and complete all pending procedures in a time-bound manner. He said irrigation and water-resource projects should progress rapidly so that farmers can benefit without delay.CM also directed officials to examine the feasibility of solarising canal banks and river embankments across South Bihar and prepare a comprehensive action plan. He stressed greater use of solar energy and optimum utilisation of available resources.During the review of social welfare department and ICDS schemes, including Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 and Mission Shakti-Samarthya, Choudhary ordered that all outstanding honorariums of Anganwadi workers and related personnel be paid before Durga Puja. He stressed timely delivery of benefits under women and child-development programmes.CM said regular monitoring, inter-departmental coordination and prompt resolution of bottlenecks were essential for completing Bihar Gati projects on schedule.
