CM orders Yadagirigutta land policy, seeks TTD model for allotments

Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday directed officials to formulate a comprehensive policy with clear guidelines for the allocation of land to mutts, caste associations and other entities within the limits of the Yadagirigutta Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Devasthanam, while ensuring that ownership of all temple lands remains with the shrine.During a review meeting on Yadagirigutta temple development works held at the MCR HRD Institute, the chief minister instructed officials to draft a policy that clearly safeguards the temple’s ownership rights over the land allotted for various purposes.Revanth also asked officials to study the land allocation model followed by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and prepare a list of organisations and institutions interested in constructing guest houses on the Yadagirigutta hillock.“Permissions for guest house construction should be granted in phases. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams model should be adopted for the construction of guest houses. Funds for land acquisition must be sanctioned immediately,” the Chief Minister said. The chief minister further directed officials to allot land to the Hare Rama Hare Krishna Foundation at Yadagirigutta at prevailing market rates. He also asked officials to examine the report submitted by the engineers’ committee on the temple’s development works and submit a detailed note to him within a week.Emphasising the need to promote Yadagirigutta as a major spiritual and tourism destination, Revanth instructed officials to develop a tourism circuit under the public-private partnership model.Located about 60 km from Hyderabad, Yadagirigutta is emerging as a prominent spiritual and heritage hub centred around the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple. The state govt is developing the surrounding region by integrating nearby historical, cultural and recreational destinations through PPP initiatives aimed at boosting tourism and infrastructure.
