Faridabad: An 18-year-old Class 11 student allegedly died by suicide in the Gandhi Nagar area on Tuesday morning, with preliminary inquiry suggesting stress over examination results.The deceased, identified as Ayush, was living with his family in a rented accommodation in the locality. Police said his Class 11 results were declared on Monday and he had been under stress after scoring lower marks than expected.According to family members, Ayush had dinner with them on Monday night and later went to his room. Nothing unusual was noticed at the time. On Tuesday morning, when he did not respond, the family checked his room and found the door closed. Upon entering, they discovered him hanging, triggering panic in the household.The police were informed immediately. A team from the Naveen Nagar outpost reached the spot, conducted a preliminary inquiry and brought the body down.Ayush was taken to BK Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The body has been kept in the mortuary for postmortem examination.Naveen Nagar police outpost in-charge Sandeep Kumar said initial findings indicate the student was distressed over his exam results. “We are recording statements of the family members and further investigation is underway,” he said.Police said no foul play is suspected at this stage.
