Guwahati: A cafe manager was assaulted and the eatery vandalised by a group in the city on Monday night.Police said five to six people were involved in the incident at the cafe. Personnel from Basistha police station reached the spot and began an investigation.“The cafe was vandalised by five to six youths. We have not identified them yet, but a case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to nab the accused persons,” a Basistha police officer said.The manager, identified as Chanki Ahmed, was allegedly attacked with bricks and chairs. He suffered severe external injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.“According to the preliminary investigation, the persons involved were acquainted with each other and had previously been involved in a similar scuffle,” police said.Police are examining CCTV footage and questioning witnesses to identify those involved. Further investigation is underway.
