NEW DELHI: A CISF assistant sub-inspector (ASI) was suspended after a woman alleged that he had photographed her inside a Delhi Metro coach, police sources said on Sunday.The incident occurred around 1 pm near AIIMS Metro Station when the woman confronted the CISF personnel over the alleged photographs. According to sources, the ASI denied taking any pictures.However, the situation escalated after some passengers reportedly found photographs of the woman in the personnel’s mobile phone gallery. Passengers then asked him to delete the images.An argument broke out and turned into a scuffle when the CISF personnel attempted to leave the coach and some passengers tried to stop him, sources said.A video of the altercation later surfaced on social media and went viral. Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.A CISF officer confirmed that the ASI has been suspended pending an inquiry.In a post on X, CISF Delhi Metro said a detailed inquiry has been ordered into the matter.“A matter has been reported regarding the alleged misconduct by a CISF personnel towards a female passenger in a metro train. The CISF has viewed this with utmost seriousness at the highest levels. The concerned personnel has been placed under suspension with immediate effect, and a detailed inquiry has been ordered”.“Further appropriate action will be taken based on the findings”.A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel has been suspended with immediate effect following allegations of misconduct towards a female passenger in a Delhi Metro train, authorities said on Sunday.In a post on X, CISF Delhi Metro said a detailed inquiry has been ordered into the matter.“A matter has been reported regarding the alleged misconduct by a CISF personnel towards a female passenger in a metro train. The CISF has viewed this with utmost seriousness at the highest levels. The concerned personnel has been placed under suspension with immediate effect, and a detailed inquiry has been ordered”.A senior police officer said the complainant did not respond to calls made by police during the night regarding the incident.“The complainant, did not respond to the phone calls made by the police regarding the matter during the night. In the morning, she informed that she is presently out of Delhi and does not want any action to be taken regarding the above incident. As per her version, she and another woman were together when the matter originated at Saket MRS. She stated that ASI A.K. Singh, CISF, allegedly captured some photographs of them on his mobile phone,” the officer said.The officer further added, “The woman further sent a written statement on WhatsApp within a few hours, stating that she does not want any action in the matter. However, matter will be communicated to CISF for departmental action at their end.”(With Agency Inputs)
