Jaipur: In a major employment push, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Rajasthan Thursday pledged to provide 25,000 job appointment letters to unemployed youth across the state.The announcement came during the industry body’s annual convention, held in the presence of chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.CII-Rajasthan chairman Sanjay Agarwal said that around 20 member companies committed to recruit 25,000 candidates within the next 6 months. In addition, 10,000 youths will undergo skill training over the next year, with plans to link them directly to recruitment opportunities.Chief Minister Sharma, addressing the gathering, urged young people to embrace entrepreneurship. “India needs more job creators rather than job seekers,” he said, stressing that Rajasthan has immense potential to nurture such an ecosystem. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening rural infrastructure and opportunities to ensure balanced regional development.The Chief Minister noted that conditions in the state are conducive to growth, citing improved law and order, reduced crime, and enhanced connectivity through air and rail networks. He added that the govt is keen to collaborate with CII on skill development initiatives through ITIs and Skill Centres, which are expected to generate around 2 lakh jobs over the next 3 years.Sharma further sought CII’s support in the govt’s deregulation drive for ease of doing business and in initiatives for women’s development, underscoring the role of industry in shaping Rajasthan’s economic future.Outlining the expectations of the govt from the industry body, Chief Secretary V Srinivas said he looked forward to collaborating with CII on skill development through ITIs and Skill Centres, which are expected to generate around 2 lakh jobs over the next 3 years. He also asked for support from CII on the govt’s deregulation exercise for ease of doing business and women’s development.
