Nagpur: China sent a seven-member delegation to the BRICS ministerial summit headed by the country’s vice-minister of transport Wang Gang. The minister was accompanied by six delegates, making it one of the biggest delegations to participate in the ministerial round of talks of the BRICS transport working group at Nagpur. The Chinese ministry of commerce deals with all four modes of transport — rail, road, air and water.Russia too sent its deputy minister of transport Alexy Shilo along with his assistant and an officer of deputy director rank as a delegate in the meeting. South Africa also sent its deputy minister of transport Mkhuleko Hlengwa.Iran, a member country from the expanded BRICS network, sent the country’s deputy ambassador Mostafa Goharifar for the meetings. Among the countries that sent their ambassadors was Ethiopia, which came along with one delegate. Egypt’s ambassador, Kamal Galal, attended the meetings along with one delegate.
