Hazaribag: A 12-year-old girl on Monday reportedly suffered miscarriage after being sexually abused by a youth of her village in Chatra district and then given a medicine for abortion by the key accused’s friend in the district, officials said.The youth allegedly lured the girl into a relationship and sexually abused her. After her pregnancy came to light, he allegedly gave her medication to induce an abortion. Her condition reportedly deteriorated after she took the medication, following which her family admitted her to the govt hospital, police said.Govt hospital official said, “The girl had arrived with complaints of bleeding and stomach ache. A medical examination revealed that she suffered a miscarriage. She is receiving treatment and reportedly out of danger.”A named FIR has been lodged against two minors at the local police station. One accused was charged of sexual exploitation and other had allegedly given medicine for abortion to the survivor, police said.“A friend of the key accused has been detained for interrogation. Probe is under way,” Chatra SP Animesh Nathany said.The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and police took cognisance of the case after the govt hospital authorities alerted them. A joint team of CWC members and personnel from local and women’s police stations recorded the statements of the girl and her parents at the govt hospital on Monday.CWC chairman Narmadeshwar Singh said, “The girl and her parents agreed to lodge a case against the accused after being counselled.”
