Minister Rajmohan said VCK was a strong pillar of the Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance of TVK.

Chennai: A day after VCK said it would walk out of the TVK-led alliance if PMK joined the front, TVK sought to calm down the ruffled feathers stating VCK was an ideologically ally and its president Thol Thirumavalavan was their ideological frontrunner.“TVK and VCK had come together on the basis of a shared ideology. Annan Thiruma and Thalapathy ( chief minister C Joseph Vijay) joined hands for an ideologically driven alliance. It is an organic alliance,” state school education minister A Rajmohan said on Monday reiterating that their partnership was strong.Rajmohan’s remarks come in the wake of state social justice minister Vanni Arasu’s statement reiterating VCK’s stand of not being part of any alliance that has “casteist PMK and communal BJP.” Vanni Arasu said at a public meeting on Sunday that ideology mattered more to him than the ministerial position given by TVK. “If PMK comes in, we will go out,’’ he said in the wake of speculations that PMK might join the ruling front.Vanni Arasu said VCK was not an ordinary political party, but a liberation movement founded to secure the right of the oppressed sections of the society. VCK had even stayed away from electoral politics in the past, he said adding that the party would not compromise on its principles for the sake of electoral benefits in future too.Seeking to allay concerns over the public differences, school education minister A Rajmohan said VCK was a strong pillar of the Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance of TVK.
