Chatra: A 12-year-old boy, who went missing from Bind Mohalla in Chatra town on Saturday, was traced a day after on Sunday morning.Nikhil Kumar Malakar, son of Krishna Malakar and a resident of Mali Tola under Sadar police station limits, was found near Gandauri temple, around 2 km from his house, early Sunday after an overnight search by police.According to police, the boy went to school on Saturday, but did not return home. He was identified by a bus conductor when he tried to board the vehicle around 6 am.The conductor informed the police and his family. A missing complaint was lodged by the family in the evening.The boy’s disappearance triggered tension in the locality on Saturday night. Family members and residents staged a road blockade at the busiest Keshri Chowk for nearly three hours demanding immediate action to trace him.It is still not clear where Nikhil went after school and spent the entire night.A Sadar police team, led by officer-in-charge Awadhesh Kumar Singh, reached the spot and assured the protesters that efforts were on to locate the child, after which the blockade was lifted.Sadar police station in-charge Awadhesh Singh confirmed the safe recovery of Nikhil and said they are trying to ascertain where the boy stayed during the night and with whom he was.
