New Delhi: A “dislike” for the domestic help allegedly drove dermatologist Dr Manish Gupta to murder her at his East of Kailash residence in June, Delhi Police has said in a chargesheet filed before a Saket court.According to the chargesheet, Gupta allegedly wanted to remove Meena (45) from her job, but his wife opposed the decision. Police are investigating whether the disagreement over her employment was among the factors that led to the killing.The nearly 350-page chargesheet includes statements from 45 witnesses. Gupta has been charged under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).As part of the investigation, police seized clothes and other material linked to the case. Sources said Gupta’s handwash and footwash samples were also collected as he had allegedly been unable to completely remove traces of blood. The forensic report is awaited.The incident came to light around 11.36 am on June 18 after a PCR call to Amar Colony police station reported that a woman had been murdered and was lying in a pool of blood on the terrace of a neighbouring building.A police team reached the spot and identified the victim as Meena.Gupta, who is in his 50s, was found near the body and apprehended. During preliminary questioning, he allegedly admitted to attacking Meena with a bat and later assaulting her with a knife, police said.The alleged murder weapons were recovered during the investigation, police added.
