Mumbai: The prominent Akhil Chandanwadi Ganeshotsav Mandal in Marine Lines is preparing to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2027. Launching its golden jubilee festivities, the mandal has decided to provide complimentary insurance coverage worth a total of Rs 3 crore to 100 public Ganesh mandals across Mumbai this year. Mandal secretary Prathamesh Sakpal said the policy, devised in association with the Aditya Birla Group, will cover the Ganpati pandal, gold ornaments of the idol and personal accident insurance for members and volunteers. Sakpal’s father, Shiv Sena leader Pandurang Sakpal who passed away a few years ago, had helmed the Chandanwadi mandal for many years.
