Ghaziabad: The district administration will hold special self-enumeration camps across gated societies, apartment complexes and residential colonies on Sunday under a ‘Housing Society Day’ drive, additional district magistrate Saurabh Bhatt said. The May 10 camps are part of the ongoing Census 2027 exercise and aim to encourage residents to complete voluntary digital self-enumeration before enumerators begin door-to-door surveys later this month. The administration has written to presidents and secretaries of residents’ welfare associations, apartment owners’ associations and colony committees, urging them to spread awareness and mobilise participation. On Saturday, ADM Saurabh Bhatt also met RWA representatives to reinforce the message.“We have circulated the message for every society in the district to participate in self-enumeration. Officials of Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation and Civil Defence volunteers will visit the societies and hold the camps,” Bhatt said.“Residents facing technical or procedural issues can contact district officials for assistance,” Bhatt added. A helpline — 0120-2989055 — has been activated by the district census cell. Residents have been asked to upload photographs of themselves completing the self-enumeration process on social media and WhatsApp to boost awareness. The current phase of house-listing and housing census is the first of the Census 2027 exercise. This year marks the first time the Census is being conducted digitally, with voluntary self-enumeration available through the official portal from May 7 to 21. One has to answer 33 notified questions on the portal for the process, following which a unique self-enumeration ID is generated. Residents have to save the ID and share it with an enumerator during the door-to-door verification, which will be held between May 22 and June 20. House census for those who did not self-enumerate, officials said, is also to be completed during the door-to-door drive.
