Kanpur:Police in the Sachendi police station area of Kanpur registered a case after a woman alleged she was raped for four years on the pretext of marriage.The victim said she met Dharmendra alias Neeraj, a resident of Gadariyanpurwa in the Sachendi area, during a family function. After conversations, the two grew closer. She alleged Dharmendra established physical relations with her several times assuring her of marriage. The victim said that after about four years, when she went to the accused’s house along with her family members and discussed marriage, the accused and his family members hurled abuses and refused to marry. Station in-charge Deenanath Mishra said, “On Saturday on the basis of the victim’s complaint, a case has been registered under the relevant sections against Dharmendra alias Neeraj, Dheerendra, Pankaj alias Sher Singh, Maan Singh, Rani Devi and Shravan Kumar. The matter is being investigated and further action is being taken.”
