Gurgaon: Five men were injured, one of them critically, after a speeding car allegedly rammed into them while they were standing along Dwarka Expressway in Sector 83 on Monday evening. A case has been registered against the unidentified driver.According to the complaint filed at Kherki Daula police station, Dinesh Kumar, a resident of Rajasthan’s Khairthal-Tijara district, had come to Balaji Fruit Company in Sector 83 along with his cousin Netraram and friend Sunil Kumar in a car.The trio later met their friends, Sunny Raheja, a Gurgaon resident, and Sachin. After the meeting, they parked their vehicle along the expressway and were standing beside the road when a car bearing registration number HR26FD6089 allegedly approached at high speed and hit them. Police said the car driver fled the spot, abandoning the vehicle.All five sustained injuries in the collision and were taken to a nearby hospital. Netraram suffered critical injuries and was admitted to Aarvy Hospital, while the others received treatment for minor injuries.“After receiving information from the hospital, a police team reached the facility and collected Netraram’s medico-legal report. However, doctors declared him unfit to give a statement,” a senior officer said.Police then recorded the statement of Dinesh, an eyewitness to the incident. Based on his complaint and the medical reports, an FIR was registered against the unidentified driver under sections 281 (rash driving), 125(a) (act endangering life) and 324(4) (mischief causing damage) of BNS at Kherki Daula police station.Police said they are investigating the circumstances leading to the accident and working to identify the driver.
