Hisar: Six people sustained severe burn injuries after the driver of a speeding car lost control, hit a divider, and caught fire on the Delhi–Sirsa National Highway near Chiknawas village in the Agroha area of the district on Sunday.According to preliminary information, the vehicle was travelling at high speed when the driver reportedly lost control. The car rammed into the central divider, overturned, and immediately went up in flames.
Passers-by and nearby residents rushed to the spot after witnessing the accident and managed to pull all six occupants out of the burning vehicle. Their swift response is believed to have prevented further casualties. Police and ambulance teams reached the scene soon after receiving information and shifted the injured to Maharaja Agrasen Medical College for treatment. Hospital sources said all six victims had suffered serious burn injuries and were undergoing treatment. Their identities were not officially confirmed at the time of filing this report. The police have launched an investigation into the incident. Preliminary findings suggest over speeding as the likely cause of the crash. Traffic on the highway was briefly disrupted following the accident, but was later restored after the police cleared the damaged vehicle from the road.
