Kullu: Two youths were killed and three others injured when the jeep they were travelling in fell off a hilly, link road near Jana village in Kullu district in the early hours of Sunday.The deceased have been identified as 20-year-old Avinash and 23-year-old Sonam Kumar, both residents of Saur village in the district. The injured were Hemraj, Vivek and Vijay, all locals.

A police officer said the accident happened at around 3:30am when the youths were returning to their villages after celebrating ‘Fagli’, a winter festival celebrated in parts of Himachal Pradesh, in Jana village.The police officer said Avinash, who was driving, lost control of the vehicle near Jana waterfall, and the vehicle rolled down around 100 metres. By the time villagers learnt of the accident and reached the spot, Avinash and Sonam had succumbed to their injuries. The villagers informed emergency services and the victims were taken to the regional hospital in Kullu.The police officer said the injured were receiving treatment and their condition was stable.
