Gurgaon: A case was registered on Monday, two days after a 27-year-old man suffered fractures in both legs in an alleged attack with an iron rod in Kherki Daula. Police said the victim had an old dispute with the accused and denied that the incident was a case of road rage.The victim, Gaurav, a resident of Hasanpur village who works for a private company, told police that he was returning home from Sector 76 DLF Privana on his motorcycle around 7.15pm on Sept 19 when an Alto K10 car hit the front wheel of his motorcycle near SGV cut and blocked his way.Gaurav told police that Rohit, a resident of his village, got out of the car along with three to four other men. He alleged that the group stopped him and that some of the men caught hold of him while Rohit attacked him with an iron rod, breaking both his legs. He further alleged that the men threatened to kill him before leaving the spot.Gaurav’s father and uncle reached the spot and took him by ambulance to Akropolis Super Speciality Hospital in Badshahpur.Police said they received information about the injured man on Sept 20 and an investigating officer visited the hospital. “His medico-legal report was obtained and the doctor was approached for an opinion on whether he was fit to give a statement. On Sept 21, the doctor declared Gaurav fit to give a statement, following which he submitted a written complaint to the investigating officer,” a police officer said.Based on the complaint, a case was registered at Kherki Daula police station under sections 3(5) (act done by multiple persons), 117(2) (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), 126(3) (wrongful restraint) and 351(3) (criminal intimidation) of BNS. Police said the investigation was underway.
