Silchar: Cachar district administration has imposed a series of security and traffic restrictions ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit on March 14.Acting on security inputs, the district magistrate has issued prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), declaring the entire district a no-fly zone from March 10 to 15.The order bans the operation of all aerial devices, including remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS), drones, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), paragliders, and microlight aircraft during this period. Authorities said the measure is part of enhanced security arrangements for the PM’s visit.All private and commercial operators have been directed not to fly drones or similar aerial devices anywhere in the district. Exceptions will be granted only with prior written permission from the competent authority after security clearance.In a separate order to ensure smooth movement of VVIP vehicles, the administration has declared certain stretches as no-parking zones for the same period.The restrictions will apply along the ISBT Point to Mangal Pandey statue point (Silchar Bypass-Hailakandi Road junction) and the ISBT Point to ONGC campus at Srikona. Vehicle owners and drivers have been instructed not to park along these routes during the period to avoid traffic disruption.The PM’s programme venue has been fixed at Ambicapur Part-III along the Silchar bypass.Officials warned that any violation of the orders will invite legal action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).The district administration has appealed to residents, drone operators, and vehicle owners to cooperate with the restrictions to ensure smooth security arrangements during the PM’s visit.
