Kolkata: The temperature has started rising once again a day after thundershowers pulled it down below the normal mark. On Friday, the maximum temperature in Kolkata rose to 34°C from 32.4°C the previous day. With no possibility of rain in the next few days, brace for hot and sultry days ahead. Met officials said the mercury is set to rise further.According to a special weather bulletin from IMD, the city is set to get dry westerly and north-westerly winds at lower levels. Combined with seasonal solar heating, Kolkata will encounter hot and humid weather for about a week. Along with Kolkata, many other parts of South Bengal too will have the same weather condition. Even if some of these districts could get one or two spells of rain during this week, Kolkata is likely to remain dry. tnn
