Patna: A 17-year-old boy was found hanging in his house at Jitwarpur Hasanpur village under Mufassil police station area in Samastipur on Sunday. On Monday, his family lodged a complaint accusing their neighbours of murdering him over an alleged affair with a minor girl. Police have registered a case and begun an investigation.According to police, the deceased has been identified as Satish Kumar alias Jassi, son of Saraswati Chandra Paswan. His elder brother, Saurabh Kumar Suman, said Satish used to talk to a minor girl from the neighbourhood. Around three months ago, the girl’s brother and father allegedly came to their house with some people and assaulted Satish, after which a compromise was reached with the help of local residents. Both Satish and the girl were instructed to stop contacting each other. However, the girl allegedly continued calling him and pressuring him to talk. When the family objected, they were allegedly threatened with dire consequences.
The family claimed Satish was alone at home while his younger sister was on the terrace when the girl’s brother, father and other family members forcibly entered the house. They allegedly beat him and hanged him with a noose. When his sister came downstairs, she saw the assault, screamed for help, and was also beaten up.Sadar ASP Sanjay Kumar Pandey said the two families lived barely 25 metres apart and knew each other. The boy and the girl studied in the same school, due to which they became close. “We are taking appropriate action based on the complaint filed by the deceased’s family,” he said.
