This summer, Goa transforms into a tapestry of vibrant hues as bougainvillea, frangipani, and gulmohar trees come alive. Model Joanne da Cunha reflects on her childhood adventures among these fragrant blooms, rediscovering the magic of nature’s palette. Make sure to explore enchanting spots like Goa University Road and Parra Lane, where the floral symphony is at its peak.

Summer has filled Goa with colour, as bougainvillea, frangipani and golden shower bloom along Portuguese compounds, while gulmohar trees set the streets alight with red flowers. The Goan model, Joanne da Cunha, shared her floral memories from childhood as she posed for us. “As a child, I’d spend hours in our neighbourhood garden, nose-deep in blossoms, inhaling the sweet scent of the blooms. I’d make wreaths from fallen flowers, and my friends and I would play hide-and-seek among the hedges,” she recalled, her eyes lighting up with nostalgia. “Even now, the scent of flowers takes me right back. I’m making the most of blossom season, letting the colours and fragrance fill me with the same joy those childhood days bring,” she added. Top spots to catch Goa in full floral bloom: Goa University Road, Taleigao Aga Khan Children’s Garden, Margao Parra (coconut) Lane, Parra Opposite Kala Academy, Panjim Mapusa Children’s Park Shree Damodar Circle, Fatorda
