Patiala: A bomb threat email sent to a private school in Patiala on Wednesday turned out to be a hoax, but not before triggering panic and evacuation of students, police said.The school informed police immediately after receiving the email warning of a blast. Classes were suspended and students were sent home as a precaution.Police teams conducted a thorough search of the premises but found nothing suspicious. Police later confirmed the threat was a hoax, though investigations are underway to trace its origin.Officials said the email appears to be part of a pattern of similar threats targeting educational institutions. On April 9, around 12 private schools in Patiala received such emails, while similar incidents were reported in Dec last year.Cyber teams and central agencies are working to track the source of the emails, which often include specific timings to create panic.
