Shimla: The Shimla Summer Festival 2026 will now be held from June 8 to 12 at The Ridge, deputy commissioner and festival committee chairman Anupam Kashyap announced on Thursday. The dates were revised due to upcoming panchayati raj elections and ongoing administrative commitments.The five-day festival will feature theme-based activities to boost visitor engagement, with cultural programmes and evening performances by renowned artists forming the main attraction. A committee of district officials will oversee arrangements to ensure smooth coordination.Among the planned events are painting competitions, road safety awareness drives, a natural flower show and a healthy baby contest. Authorities are also planning a Himachali food festival.This year, the stage at the Ridge will be set up at a new location. A souvenir-cum-coffee table book featuring rare photographs of Shimla will also be released.
