Bokaro: Training of personnel on the eSummons App has begun in the city on Tuesday. The digital platform is aimed at streamlining the service of court summons and legal notices and improving coordination between the police and judiciary, with the training initiated by Bokaro police.Superintendent of police (SP) Nathu Singh Meena on Tuesday said the app enables electronic transmission, tracking and delivery of summons issued by courts. The platform is part of the Integrated Criminal Justice System (ICJS), an initiative designed to enhance transparency in police-judicial processes and reduce delays in legal proceedings, he said.Under the system, summons can be served through mobile devices, with the designated officer required to complete and record the service on the application, creating a verifiable digital trail.To familiarise personnel with the platform, the district police organised a training session attended by the deputy superintendent of police (headquarters), officers from various police stations and several sub-inspectors and assistant sub-inspectors.Following the session, Meena directed all participating personnel to download and register on the application and ensure prompt service of summons received from courts.Police officials said the digital mechanism is expected to make the process more efficient by maintaining a trackable record of summons delivery and enabling quicker coordination between law enforcement agencies and the judiciary.
