Bokaro: DC Ajay Nath Jha reviewed financial records, registers and administrative procedures at the district ‘Nazarat’ office and the Building Division office and ordered probe.The move comes after a video reportedly showing tender about a project work under the building division being issued illegally went viral on June 26.Warning of “zero tolerance” against persons involved in financial irregularities, Jha said, “The District Accounts Audit Committee will begin a detailed audit from July 1. Nazarat deputy collector Raj Sharma will verify all financial and stock records before presenting them to the audit team.”Officials told Jha tenders up to Rs 50 lakh are processed offline and only two bids had been received before the deadline. The money exchange seen in the video allegedly occurred between contractors after the tender process ended, they added.Jha directed the additional collector to issue notices to the contractors and office staff concerned, record statements and submit an inquiry report within a week. Strict action would follow against anyone found guilty.
