Gurgaon: The body of an unidentified woman, believed to be aged between 30 and 35 years, was found near Basai Chowk late on Sunday, with police suspecting murder.Police said the body was discovered around 10.30 am, following which a team from Sector 10A police station reached the spot and sealed the area. A forensic team examined the scene and collected evidence.The woman has not yet been identified. Police said no identity documents or personal belongings were recovered from the spot, and efforts are underway to establish her identity by checking missing persons records and coordinating with nearby police stations.Though no visible external injury marks were found during the preliminary examination, investigators suspect foul play given the circumstances in which the body was recovered. The exact cause of death will be ascertained after the post-mortem examination, officials said.Police are also probing whether the woman was killed elsewhere and her body was dumped near Basai Chowk or whether the crime took place at the spot. CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being scanned to trace suspicious movement, while residents, shopkeepers and security guards are being questioned to piece together the victim’s last known movements.A case has been registered, and the body has been kept in the mortuary pending identification and post-mortem.
