Kanpur: The bodies of two men who allegedly went missing after leaving home in a car on Monday night were recovered from the Pandu canal in Kanpur’s Sachendi area late Tuesday.The deceased were identified as Deepak Pandey (30) and Ankit Kamal (28).According to police, the two left home together without informing their families. When they did not return till late at night and their phones remained switched off, family members started searching for them.On Tuesday afternoon, a missing persons complaint was registered at Sachendi police station, following which police launched a search operation.Police received information about a car falling into the canal near Bachhaurpur village. While the vehicle was pulled out, the two men remained missing and were later found about 200 metres away from the car in the canal.Sachendi SHO Dinanath Mishra said CCTV footage from nearby areas was being scanned to determine the circumstances under which the car fell into the canal.The bodies were sent for postmortem examination, and further action would be taken after receiving the autopsy report and any complaint from the families.
