Ludhiana: Block Congress president Parminder Tiwari was murdered with an axe in Takhran on Sunday. Two motorcycle-borne assailants targeted Tiwari while he sat outside labour quarters, striking his head repeatedly before fleeing. Confusion over police jurisdiction between Koom Kalan and Machhiwara reportedly delayed the emergency response. Tiwari was declared dead at a Ludhiana hospital. Police have launched a probe and are questioning the victim’s family to identify potential rivalries behind the targeted daylight killing.
