Ludhiana: A credit war has erupted over the upcoming operationalisation of Halwara Airport. Punjab minister Sanjeev Arora dismissed recent claims by Union minister of state for railways, Ravneet Singh Bittu, as “misleading,” asserting that the state had already confirmed flight bookings would commence next week.Arora accused “opportunists” of repeating his previous announcements regarding the mid-May launch. While Bittu highlighted federal progress, Arora credited his own “relentless” multi-level coordination for bringing the long-pending project to fruition. As the manufacturing hub of Ludhiana prepares for takeoff, both parties are jostling for political capital ahead of the landmark opening.
