Srinagar, Oct 3: BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B L Santhosh on Saturday said organisational responsibilities may change with time, but the basic duties, values and commitment of a dedicated party worker must remain unchanged.
Addressing a ‘Samman Samaroh’ at the BJP headquarters in Jammu, Santhosh said the organisation’s objective was larger than any individual or position and urged party workers to continuously strengthen their capabilities while contributing to the party’s organisational growth.
The function was organised to honour Tarun Chugh for his nearly six years of service as J&K BJP Prabhari and Ashok Koul for his 14 years of service as J&K BJP General Secretary (Organisation).
Chugh has now been appointed National Office Prabhari, Rajya Sabha MP and Gujarat Prabhari, while Koul has returned to the RSS, the party’s parent organisation.
Santhosh said every person, while handling organisational responsibilities, gradually develops experience, personality and the ability to guide others. He praised Koul’s long service as an RSS Pracharak and J&K BJP organisational leader, saying his return to the parent organisation reflected the broader organisational purpose.
“Responsibilities may change, but the basic duties do not,” Santhosh said, calling upon party workers to focus on strengthening the organisation rather than becoming attached to individuals or positions.
J&K BJP president Sat Sharma also thanked Chugh and Koul for their contributions, saying their organisational work had strengthened the party across Jammu and Kashmir.
Chugh, in his address, said J&K had witnessed sustained struggles over nationalist and social causes, with BJP workers making sacrifices during difficult periods. He credited the Modi Government with putting J&K on a development trajectory and described Koul as a key organisational figure who strengthened the BJP’s base in Jammu and expanded its presence across constituencies in Kashmir.
He said much work remained to be done and called upon party workers to continue their organisational efforts.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh and other senior BJP leaders attended the programme, which followed a party meeting on organisational matters and issues concerning public service in J&K.
