Bhubaneswar: The BJP Yuva Morcha on Saturday announced an ambitious programme to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on Sept 17 with a mega blood donation camp in the state capital, attempting to set a world record for the highest collection at a single venue in a day. The event will be held on Unit-III Exhibition Ground from 7 am as part of BJP’s month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, scheduled from Sept 17 to Oct 17.Besides blood donation, the programme will feature a documentary on Modi’s life, nukkad natak, exhibitions on youth-centric schemes, a selfie corner and other activities aimed at engaging young people.Addressing a news conference here, BJP Yuva Morcha state president Abhilash Panda appealed to youth to participate in large numbers. “The Yuva Morcha will make every effort to create a new world record by collecting the highest amount of blood at one place by one organisation in a single day,” Panda said.The month-long campaign will feature 13 major programmes, including blood donation drives, Anganwadi utsav, Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, Seva Jyoti Yatra and Janasebera Mahakumbha. The Yuva Morcha also unveiled a song, ‘Raktadan Mahapunya’ and launched a QR code for voluntary blood donor registration.
