Hyderabad: BJP floor leader Alleti Maheshwar Reddy on Sunday said the CBI will definitely probe corruption allegations related to the Kaleshwaram project, but only after the Telangana govt sends a proper letter seeking an investigation in the alleged Rs 1 lakh crore scam.Speaking in the assembly during the discussion on demands for grants, the BJP MLA claimed that the state govt had sought a CBI probe based on the reports of NDSA and PC Ghose commission, but only into irregularities in the three barrages — Medigadda, Sundilla and Annaram — of the Kaleshwaram project.“As the then TPCC president and later as the chief minister, A Revanth Reddy alleged irregularities in Kaleshwaram, Dharani, Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, E-Formula race, power purchase agreements, phone tapping, and the ORR lease. Let the state govt seek a CBI probe into all these issues, and we are ready to ensure that the investigation will be taken up,” Alleti Maheshwar Reddy said. The BJP floor leader also said he doubts whether the CM truly wants the CBI to investigate and arrest former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. “During a chat with media persons in New Delhi, Revanth said there was no need to arrest KCR as he was already kept under arrest in his farmhouse,” Alleti Maheshwar Reddy alleged.
