Hyderabad: Nirmal police arrested two individuals on Sunday for allegedly kidnapping and attempting to rape two minor girls.Police said the incident occurred at Sofi Nagar, where the girls were allegedly abducted and taken to a park by the accused, who belong to a different community, where the attempt took place.The girls later managed to escape and reach their home. Based on the complaint filed by their parents, the accused were arrested. Following allegations from local political leaders, blood samples were collected to determine whether the accused were under the influence of ganja.The accused were booked for kidnapping, violation of the POCSO Act, and the SC & ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, before being sent to judicial remand. “The accused are known to the victims. Since they are minors, the POCSO Act was invoked,” police said.tnn
